Chania consists of two parts the New Town where most of the days business takes place along with its shops and offices and the Old Town which is built around the Venetian harbour with its web of pretty narrow streets where visitors can find a great selection of hand made leather goods and Cretan folk art. The Old Town is also the centre of night life with many restaurants, traditional tavernas where you can sit and enjoy a meal while watching the world go by, along with bars and clubs.
Chania is mainly a mountainous region but also has wonderful beaches on its south side where is meets the Libyan Sea. Chania is a beautiful and picturesque city full of old charm, archaeological, naval and folklore museums.
